Call or text 236-300-2712 between 7 am and 11 pm, or use the form above. We’ll ask for the year, make and model, what’s wrong with it, whether any parts are missing, and where it’s parked. Photos of all four sides, the dash and the engine bay help us give a firm number faster.
Step 2Get One Firm Price
We look at the car’s weight, its parts and the pickup, then give you one number. No “up to” figure and no range. Want to think it over? Call us back, and we’ll confirm the number again on the day since metal prices move. How we work it out is explained in what a scrap car is worth in Vancouver.
Pick a Pickup Time
Most South Vancouver pickups happen within 3 to 4 hours of your call. We run every day until 11 pm, so after work pickups are easy. Tell us how you’d like to hear from us, by call or text, and we’ll let you know when the driver is on the way.
The Driver Checks and Pays You
Check your ID
Your photo ID must match the name on the registration.
Match the VIN
The VIN on the car must match the registration.
Confirm the price
A quick look over the car, then the number you were quoted.
Pay you
Cash or e-Transfer, your choice, before anything is signed.
Paperwork, Plates and Tow
After you’ve been paid, the driver fills in the Transfer/Tax Form (APV9T) with you and you sign all four pages. You keep the seller’s copy. Take your plates off (we can help), then our flatbed or wheel lift truck loads the car and it’s gone. Every document is covered in how to scrap a car in BC.
Our Quote Promise
The price we quote is the price we pay, as long as the car matches what you told us. Only three things can change it:
- A major part that wasn’t mentioned is missing, like the engine, transmission or catalytic converter
- The vehicle is different from the one described
- The registration isn’t in your name, or no one with legal authority is there to sign
If anything changed, you hear it from the driver before you sign anything, and you can say no at no cost. Towing is free within about 10 km of our office; for pickups further out, any towing cost is agreed before you book.
What to have ready
- Your registration and a photo ID that matches it
- A clear path to the car
- Access codes for gates or parkades
- Personal items taken out of the car
After the pickup
- Keep the seller’s copy of the APV9T
- Cancel or move your Autoplan policy at an Autoplan broker
- Return your plates or move them to your next vehicle
- Remove the car from any parking app or strata parking list
Pickup Questions
How long does the whole thing take?
The quote takes a few minutes, and most South Vancouver pickups happen within 3 to 4 hours of your call. We’ll tell you on the call how long to plan for at the pickup itself.
Can I cancel after booking?
Yes. Call or text us as soon as you can. Whether any charge applies depends on the situation, and we’ll always tell you up front.
What if I’m not home at pickup?
Someone with your signed paperwork and authority can meet the driver instead. The driver must see ID and get original signatures.
Can I book for later in the week?
Yes. Pick any day and time between 7 am and 11 pm that suits you.
Do I have to accept the price?
No. A quote is free and there’s no pressure. If the price doesn’t work for you, just say so.
